COFFEE, CROISSANTS, AND A WHOLE VIBE
By Lisa Lauture
Huntsville has grown so fast that I am still trying to catch up. I happened upon a local bakery in Downtown Huntsville called The Moon Bakeshop while scrolling through Instagram. Whether you live here or not, I encourage you to check out their page. Their photos are amazing. I don’t know how we missed this place! My husband and I decided to take our girls on a Sunday morning adventure. This experience gave a new meaning to romanticizing life.
Our experience at the bakery was a step above what I’d imagined it would be. It was busy, not as busy as I heard it could get, but that comes with having such an amazing establishment. The staff were pleasant, beyond the typical "customer service cordial." It felt like they wanted us there. There was a variety of bakery items, some new and some familiar favorites. I knew we picked a winner when our girls requested that we return here before we placed our order.
Yes, this is indeed a nice restaurant but… What about the romance? Well, what struck me the most about our outing were the details. I am a “stop and smell the roses” kind of girl and there were so many roses to take in. The décor on the walls, the books stashed in various places, the little lady high on the shelf behind the register (I wonder how many people notice her.) And on top of all of that, the beautiful autumn weather was the icing on the croissant for me. It was so beautiful out, we decided to take a walk around the block.
As of late, I have been making an effort to pause and take in my experiences. I have been intently looking for ways to make life amazing without the need to hop an airplane and go abroad. I have spent so much of my adulthood living for the future. I want my future to be amazing. I don’t have time to breath right now, I’m working towards a “better” future. But Lisa, can you recall the last breath you took.. today?
My question to you is, what are some things you can do to make life amazing right now? Do YOU remember the last breath you took. I encourage you to experience the beauty of today, today. That's what romanticizing life is all about. Savoring your todays and doing things that make life where you are, an experience.
